One person, building small websites for small businesses.
I'm Jake Thomson, and Digital Doorframe is my one-person web shop based in Michigan. I work mostly with local shops and trades that need a real website but don't want to spend agency money to get one.
The goal isn't to make you a flashy site. It's to give you a clean front door online. Something that loads fast, reads well on a phone, says what you do, and makes it obvious how to get hold of you.
I'm currently taking on local projects in Michigan and Metro Detroit, plus a few remote ones. If that's you, send a note.
Six things I care about.
Useful beats impressive
Every page is built around something a real customer is trying to do: call, book, find you.
Write like a person
If a sentence sounds like a brochure, it gets cut.
Works on a phone
Sites are built to read well on a phone, not just a laptop.
SEO basics, no gimmicks
Titles, descriptions, sitemap, local schema. No promises about rankings.
Easy to contact
One-tap call buttons, short forms, a map you can see. Less hassle, more calls.
Your site stays yours
You own the domain, the content, the whole thing. You can walk away any time.
Ready when you are.
Project intake gets you a written scope and price before anything is charged. Not ready yet? Send your current site or Facebook page and I'll write back with what I'd actually fix.
